With 1.8 million visits annually to its parks and facilities, Willamalane caters to the needs of each visitor through a mission to provide exceptional parks and recreation to enrich the lives of everyone they serve. Willamalane Parks and Recreation District encourages guests to explore Lane County with 25 miles of hiking and biking trails and 1,500 acres of parks and natural areas. Whether by foot or by bike these trails serve as a gateway to the Willamette River on the Middle Fork Trail or to learn about local historical sites like Dorris Ranch. Utilizing money allocated to parks programs by voters Willamalane has given back to our community with recent work on Splash! at Lively Park Meadow park and the upcoming Thurston Hills natural area. With 17 different sports fields and five facilities Willamalane hosts a number of tournaments and events that are big drivers of tourism in Lane County. In addition to tournaments and events Willamalane offers over 500 recreation programs classes and events each season for people of all ages to enjoy. While Willamalane provides a fun experience for families to enjoy when they come to Springfield.
