What’s the Buzz on the Streets? Tobacco-Free Sports & Recreation

whenever I go to parks myself, I see smokers around, and like I feel that the athletes don’t just don’t give
their full potential because of the smoke. So without them there, then they could just give it their all and everyone can just enjoy themselves, really Sports venues in general are
trying to you know, umm advertise like healthy spaces and it only makes sense that those areas
would kind of keep in line with that to keep smoke away is probably best for both athletes and.. Outdoors I think there should be like at least a smoking and non-smoking section I think people have the right to smoke if they really want to do that, and it
should be far enough away from the non-smoking that doesn’t bother anyone, I would hope No, I did not know but the 20 meter rule for sports fields, I’ve heard of it with like restaurants and stuff before or like hotels and stuff. I’ve never heard of it before. No, I didn’t know that. I didn’t know that. No clue Ya, actually I did hear about that. and basically a lot of our coaches are actually telling us that too so they’re telling us really like, be careful people what you guys do, and stuff like that, so Ya, I actually heard about that. Maybe TV ads, or just umm, people around the street just talking about it I usually learn everything from social media, or like the internet in general, so… More like advertisements, PSAs, and stuff like that There’s been a lot but, they have to make some more creative ones where people will actually listen. I think it bothers them because like you’re trying to be active and you’re trying like to be healthy, but then you just smell that horrible thing and it’s just like stopping you from doing what you really love to do. I think I’d be pretty mad about that, I mean it’s not their fault because obviously, they don’t really, it’s their business to smoke but you know I wanna be fit and maybe if that law comes into play, then I can go in an area where people really can’t smoke, and I can just be there, so we can both have our rights, you know my dad’s a smoker so I’ve been second-hand smoking all my life, with my dad, so that’s how I developed asthma as well. We don’t want kids to develop asthma at a young age and then it’s going to affect them in the long term when they’re trying to play sports as well.
