Travel Gifts – 10 Gift Ideas For Travelers

– Looking for an awesome gift
for the traveler in your life? I’ve got 10 super cool
travel gift ideas comin’ up. (funky music) Hey, what’s up guys? Sean
here with Think Media TV. Helping you go further faster in media. And on this channel, we
do video gear reviews, audio and tech reviews, so definitely subscribe for
more videos just like this one. And hey, at any time during this video, check out the show notes
in the YouTube description. I’ll lest out all of the
travel gifts mentioned as well as links, extra
details, and some bonus things that I may have forgot. Let’s get into the video. So I live in the US and
I’ve been traveling a lot for the last couple years, domestically and internationally. And so these gift ideas are
kind of coming from experience. So the first gift idea would
be a digital luggage scale. This one is from Bonazza,
and it is really awesome. What’s nice is they fit in your hand and you actually wrap the
strap around your bag, and then you lift it up to get the readout of how much it weighs. This one’s really nice
’cause it goes in pounds, kilograms, ounces, and grams, so you can switch the settings. And the reason these are
so essential for travel is because if your bags weigh too much, you might get charged extra fees, or I found out when
traveling internationally, that they even weigh
you carry-ons at time, and make you check them. And maybe you don’t wanna check them. So the second gift idea would be a universal power adapter. This one is also from Bonazza, and it’s great because it’s
gonna allow you to convert whatever country you find yourself in, over 150 countries, your power to the plug
from your native country. So it’s universal both directions. You’re gonna be able to
plug it in to the wall, and plug in your devices to the front, as well as a couple USB ports. Now this particular adapter
does not convert voltage. You can check out the reviews and whatnot, and you’ll see that it is a solid choice, but if you want to step it
up to an even ‘nother level, you can check out this
Bestek model right here. Something like this is
like the ultimate solution for converting power. Four USB ports, three US outlets, and then with the plug end, you can plug into all of
your various countries with these converters. And having a voltage
converter is just like another layer of protection. And so either one of these
would be a great choice. Check out the links in
the YouTube description to kind of compare and contrast these. For the third gift idea for travelers, consider a nice pair of headphones. Now these are some older
Phillips headphones that I’ve been using for
years and they’ve worked, but I’ve realized the necessity of investing in better headphones. And so recently I just picked up a pair of Bose Sound True headphones. Now these are great because they come in two different models, the on ear which are a little bit smaller, and the around ear model. And they’re great because
there’s kind of a, they’re not actually noise-canceling, but the cancel out noise really well, and they’re very comfortable. Good sound reproduction, and not too terribly expensive. Now the designer model that you could definitely get for somebody would be the Quiet Comfort noise-canceling headphones from Bose. Now these are really well
known, super solid reviews. If you can afford it, the traveler you’re
shopping for will thank you, because they can not only listen to music, noise canceling for airlines
or anywhere they go, but a lot of people will use them even when they’re not listening to music just to cancel noise,
and just turn ’em on, so that they can just stay focused, rest, and do whatever they need to do. Now the next travel gift idea would be a steamer or a mini iron. I just took this one to South Africa, it was a little overkill
for my luggage space. This was a little large,
it was all we had. But two models to check out would be the Steamfast SF717, or a mini-steam iron, and I’ll link those up in
the YouTube description. It’s just this idea where
when I got to South Africa, there actually wasn’t an iron. I had to request one, and
then one had to be brought up, so it’s nice to have just a steamer. And you can get in a lot of
situations where sometimes, a steamer’s actually a
better solution than an iron and most hotels wouldn’t have them. If you’ve got suit jackets
or some different things, you don’t really wanna iron it, but steaming it would be a good solution. Travel gift idea five, a selfie stick or a Gorillapod. As a traveler, it’s always
awesome to take pictures, and so a selfie stick that’ll work with a point-and-shoot camera or a phone is a great option. And I also really love Gorillapods, because they can take it to a next level. They grip tight, are
great for mobile devices, and so you could check
those out as an idea, or they have all kinds of different sizes, depending on the traveler
that you’re shopping for. Do they have a DSLR, do
they have a bigger camera, do they need a bigger Gorillapod? Or there are some smaller models. So for the next gift idea for travelers would be to get them a powerful
point-and-shoot camera. Now everybody’s smart phones
take pretty good photos, but for the avid traveler,
they might want something that is small and portable, but also extremely powerful
when it comes to a camera. And I’ll linkup on the YouTube card in the corner of the screen, you can click there to
see a comprehensive review on some of the best point-and-shoots. But two of my favorites
would be, number one, the Canon S120, a very solid point-and-shoot camera that could fit into your pocket. That way they have a dedicated camera for video clips or for photos that’s got a nice big sensor. It takes beautiful photos, it can have a dedicated SD card, and they can really capture the places that they are traveling. This one’s gonna be a
little bit more affordable, still in about the 300 to 350 range, so an investment, but mind you, these are really good cameras. And the other one would be the Canon G7X. So this would be the
step up from the S120, even better photos,
even better video clips. Nice flip out screen on this one, and a great camera for traveling. There are a lot of great point-and-shoots coming out right now. One to check out would be the Lumix LX100, and also the Sony RX100 line. They’ve got mark one,
two, three, and four. Four different models so
far, you can check those out. Check out the YouTube description, and I’ll link up a few
extra tips and ideas if a point-and-shoot
sounds like a gift idea you’d want to get the
traveler you’re shopping for. Next would be a solid power bank, and a power bank is a device that’s like a portable battery that you can plug in USB ports and charge up your phone
or your other devices if you are away from power. So the converters are great
if you’re in a country where you need to convert the outlet to charge your devices, but when you’re traveling, there’s a lot of times when
you aren’t even by an outlet, and you definitely need
something like a power bank. What’s nice is that a solid model could probably recharge your
phone multiple times over, and I would recommend a few features. This one is pretty good. I’ll put my favorite ones
in the YouTube description. If they have more than
USB port, it’s nice, so you can charge
multiple devices at once. And if they’re solid and dependable, and have good reviews,
and things like that. So definitely check out power banks. Number eight, a Bluetooth speaker. Now specifically, I love traveling with this Boombotix
speaker, and here’s why. Because it’s pretty small, because you can clip it on your backpack or different places, and whenever we go on video
shoots and do kinds of things, it’s nice to be able to play
music in the hotel room, just get it up and running, or anywhere we go, and
bring our music with us. We shoot time lapse,
you stand out somewhere, you can literally have a little
portable speaker with you. And what I like about this one is that it has internal memory, and so you can load it up with kind of your base of playlists so no matter what, you
always have music on it. And number two, it also
has solid Bluetooth, and it connects really fast
and everything like that. And so this Boombotix Pro
is a personal favorite, but if the traveler you’re
shopping for is a music lover, there’s a bunch of really
solid Bluetooth speakers out there to check out. Number nine, the Human
Charger light therapy headset. So this headset is
designed to help travelers recover from jet lag
twice as fast as normal, and the way it does that
is with light therapy that is kind of like your
brain getting sunlight, and your body and the rhythms of your body getting light therapy so
that you recover faster from the fogginess and the fatigue. I actually have a whole dedicated video on the Human Charger, and so I’ll link that up on the cards. I did a whole extensive trip from LA to London, London to South Africa, and kind of journaled my
time with the Human Charger. And so for me, it’s legit. Really loved it, it was great to use, but definitely a super cool
traveler gift idea to check out. And then number 10, an RFID-blocking passport
holder and or a money belt. These are some solid
gift ideas that are nice not just to keep all your
stuff together and organized, but also to protect you
from tech savvy criminals. And so definitely check these out. I’ll link some of my favorites
in the YouTube description. Question of the day, what do you like to travel with, and what are some of
your travel gift ideas? Let me know in the YouTube

Another awesome gift idea would be these really old binoculars. Does this look cluttered? (sighs) Cheers, from Las Vegas
to you wherever you are.
