Tips for Completing Recreation Worker Scheduling Forms


Welcome to the Recreation Worker Application
System Video Support Series. This video is on, Understanding How to Complete the On-line
Form. In it you will receive quick tips on submitting your application as well as understanding
the terminology of how to complete Part A B C or D as well as Relief. This submission checklist has been created
to ensure that you make sure you: Submit your application by the season deadline
to be considered for shifts, typically: Fall/Winter due – 3rd week of June
Spring/Summer due – 1st week of January Submit a separate application for each Program
Area you work in, such as: Active Living – Fitness Programs, Skating,
Ski and Snowboarding Aquatics – Leisure Swims, Lessons
Camps – Activity Camp, Adventure Camp, Specialty Camp
General Programs – Arts(crafts, dance, music, performing arts, visual arts), Preschool/Early
Years, Sports. Know the exact name of your facility and your
Job Classification(s)/Title(s) and the TR Code(s)! Do you have the required qualifications?
Are they current? Complete the proper sections of the form applicable
to you (Part A, B, C or D) which will be explained further in this video.
Complete the Relief section if you are interested in being on a Relief list. If you don’t
you cannot fill in for any extra hours the location may have.
Print the confirmation page(s) or save it onto your computer for future reference. Part A – “Owner” of Shift at Requested
Location Completed ONLY by staff who are interested
in Returning to the: SAME Work Location
SAME Job Classification SAME Shift
for a particular season such as Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
This means, in order to complete this section you must be a Returning staff who worked at
the requested location in the requested job classification and worked more than 2/3 of
the shifts in the prior year season. For example: If you worked at Edithvale CC
as a Fitness Instructor on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00pm, in the previous Winter season,
and worked 2/3’s of the shifts, then this is your shift. You “Own” it; therefore
no one else should be applying for it, but you!
Part B – Want Additional Hours at Requestedt Location
Completed ONLY by staff who are interested in Returning to the:
SAME Work Location SAME Job Classification
Additional Hours for a particular season such as Spring, Summer,
Fall, Winter This means, in order to complete this section
you must be a Returning staff who has worked at the requested location in the requested
classification in the prior year season, but are looking for additional hours.
For example: You worked at Edithvale CC as a Fitness Instructor on Thursday’s from
12:00-1:00pm, in the previous Winter season, but are available to work an additional shift
on Monday’s anytime after 3pm in the upcoming Winter season.
Part C – Want a Different Classification at Requested Location
Completed ONLY by staff who are interested in Returning to the:
SAME Work Location Different Job Classification
Different Shift for a particular season such as Spring, Summer,
Fall, Winter This means, in order to complete this section
you must be a Returning staff who has worked at the requested location in the prior year
season, but are looking to work in a different classification.
For example: You worked at Edithvale CC as a Fitness Instructor on Thursday’s from
12:00-1:00pm, in the previous Winter season, but are interested in becoming a Building
Attendant and are available Saturday’s all day for the upcoming Winter season. Part D – Want to work at a Different Location
in any Classification Completed ONLY by staff who are interested
in Returning to a: Different Work Location
Any Job Classification Any Shift
for a particular season such as Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
This means, in order to complete this section you must be a Returning staff who is interested
in working at a different location and are applying to any classification in the upcoming
season. For example: You worked at Edithvale CC as
a Fitness Instructor on Thursday’s from 12:00-1:00pm, in the previous Winter season,
but are interested in working at Amesbury CC in any Classification you may have worked
as before such as a Building Attendant or Fitness Instructor and are available Saturday’s
all day for the upcoming Winter season. Relief – Want to be put on a “Relief”
list Completed ONLY by Returning staff who are
interested in working relief: Any Work Location
Any Job Classification Any Shift
for a particular season such as Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.
Important: You must be qualified to work
in the Classification(s) requested.
