The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel CREATIVE CONTEST WINNERS

LAUNCHPAD: Gee, D.W., You DID almost kill us! DARKWING DUCK: Well, it’s not like anybody died! Welcome Brothers and Sisters to the announcement
of the winners of the very first Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel Creative Contest! Firstly
I want to thank all of you for your patience. There have countless holdups and delays, and
I appreciate your tolerance. If you’re new to the show, you may have
missed my original announcement of this contest, which was made about a month and a half ago.
I held this contest to celebrate the fact that my channel reached 10,000 subscribers.
Since that original announcement, I’ve grown to over 16,000! Now, I don’t want to belabor this intro
– but before I announce the winners, I want to let you all know how amazed, honored, and
flattered I was by everyone’s entries. The competition was VERY tight, and even if I
didn’t select you as a winner in this video – know that over the upcoming weeks I will
be sharing your entry in a separate video series for all our members to see! So without further ado – lets start revealing
the winners! As you may remember there are two tiers of winners – one for primary submissions,
and a second special selection for entrants under the age of ten. I’ve actually had
so many amazing entries that I’ve decided to expand the number of winners with some
prizes for runners up. In addition to the hat prizes for the primary
winners, those selected as runners up for the Special Selection will receive a copy
of Tales of the Cryptids! An amazing large format book for young readers filled with
pictures and descriptions of the real world stories that the creatures in Gravity Falls
are based on! I’ve also utilized a prize pack I had designed
for a future giveaway to award to runners up of the Primary Submissions. So those selected
as runners up will receive a Paranormal Proof Pack – which is comprised of a gently used
Polaroid camera, a cartridge of film, and a cutout of a flying saucer – that way you
capture or at least fake analog proof of the Paranormal. Just like Dipper does in episodes
like the Land Before Swine! So lets reveal these runners up first. The
runners up for the Special Selection for entrants under ten are: Jason Karl whose hand made
journal impressed the judges, and Dakota Keller whose drawings and video breakdown of those
drawings won me over. Congratulations to you both! You’ll be receiving a copy of Tales
of the Cryptids! And the Grand Prize winner of the Special
Selection for entrants under ten is: Nathan Drew! Not only was Nathan the youngest entrant
for the contest – the judges really loved his depiction of me lounging in a chair. I
personally like how happy I look in this picture, and how you included my bookcase! Congratulations,
Nathan! You’ve won your very own official Dipper Pines hat! And now for the runners up of the Primary
Contest Submissions! The first runner up is Megan Miller! Her entry won the judges over
for it’s sharp use of ink, composition, and contrast between lights and darks. For
a black and white piece it’s incredibly intricate and detailed. The next runner up is Lydiachan22, whose entry
was praised by the judges for it’s use of color and depth. Personally I like the use
of shading – especially in the folds and creases of my smoking jacket! And the final runner up is Ellie Garrity,
whose entry was a small statue of myself in my ceremonial vestments. She even molded the
tassel on the correct side! The judges were all very impressed by the craftsmanship – and
appreciated that she included pictures of the process of it’s creation! As for me,
I was honored to be immortalized as a figure! So congratulations to Megan, Lydia, and Ellie
– who will all be receiving Paranormal Proof Packs! You should be incredibly proud! We’re in the home stretch folks – and it’s
time to reveal the final three winners. First let’s reveal the two first place winners
from the Primary Selection. Congratulations to Afton Jagels whose hand crafted embroidered
fez won over the judges, and won high marks for creativity for being the only piece of
clothing made for the contest. Personally I think it looks great on my owl, Rocky Top
– and that’s why I selected it for first place. And congratulations to Cheyenne Rose who’s
amazing drawing bowled over the judges – not only for her use of perspective, but also
for the confidence of her line work – which evokes the art style of Gravity Falls, but
still remains true to her personal style. I selected this piece for first place because
of how well it tells a story in a single image, and for how she evoked the Royal Order through
a personal account. Afton and Cheyenne will be receiving an official
Grunkle Stan fez, along with a certificate commemorating their momentous win! And finally
it’s time to announce the Grand Prize winner of the first ever Royal Order of the Holy
Mackerel Creative Contest! I’d like to say it was after a lot of deliberation,
but one particular entry stood out from the rest by far. That’s no discredit to the
rest of our entries – but this submission not only embraced the creativity the contest
was founded on, it also incorporated the theme of the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel perfectly. So congratulations to Fiamma Tulli, whose
entry was a fantastically detailed sculpture of my owl, Rocky Top, perched on a stump in
the woods, wearing a fez, and performing the reverse salute. This deserved to win for the
careful packaging Fiamma did alone, but everyone was blown away by the craftsmanship and the
character design – which shows how fully realized this original three dimensional owl really
is. Fiamma, as the grand prize winner you have
not only won the Grunkle Stan fez, but you will also be receiving a grand prize certificate
you can flaunt in a space of honor, and an official Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel
Membership Kit! Now before I close this announcement, I do
want to shout out a few honorable mentions. Entries that may have not been selected by
the judges, but won me over all the same. Though I don’t have any more prizes to award
today, I wanted to single these folks out for their work in this video. These honorable mentions are Miranda Mason,
whose fur bearing MacKrell honestly made me laugh. Megan Naylor-Jones, who crafted a deeply
detailed recreation of what she thinks my house looks like beyond the camera’s lens,
Samuel Noble who created a great reworking of the Gravity Falls theme song coupled with
clips from my show. And Rasmus Hartwich, who crafted a detailed tree which incorporates
every meeting of the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel! Again, my thanks go out to everyone who submitted
to this contest. Like I said in the beginning I hope to start sharing all of your entries
with our members soon! Members, I really appreciate your positive response to the show and everything
I create for it. I appreciate your support every step along the way. And appreciate every
letter, email, drawing, and comment you leave. As my subscriber count continues to grow I
promise to continue to bring you higher quality videos more frequently, better communication
about our live meetings, and more giveaways and contests to celebrate huge milestones.
Because after all, 20,000 subscribers isn’t that far off. That concludes this announcement of the winners
of the very first Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel Creative Contest! Until next time,
share, subscribe, and keep cracking those codes! Now that the contest is over, I hope to reach
out to all those who digitally sent me their submissions to let them personally know what
I like about their entries! If you sent something in, be sure to keep an eye on your mailbox!
