Student Recreation Center at CSUN: Membership Options for Students, Faculty and Staff

There’s no doubt the Student Recreation
Center in the University Student Union at CSUN is a great looking building — both
inside and out. And with its three fitness zones, rock climbing
wall, three-court gymnasium, multi-activity court, fitness and Group Exercise studios,
racquetball court, indoor track, turf field, two outdoor swimming pools and Intramural
Sports program — it’s a world-class fitness facility. But neither the beautiful building nor all
of the great features it offers is the best thing about the Student Recreation Center.
The best thing about the SRC is the range of amazing people here. All kinds of people — including people like
you. People who share your interests. No matter if you’re a fitness pro who thrives on competing
in difficult challenges or someone just looking to work out occasionally and lay out by the
pool… we have your people. At the Student Recreation Center, it’s easy
to start making connections right away and soon after that, you’ll get a real sense
of belonging here. As a part of the University Student Union, the SRC is all about “Maximizing
Your Matador Experience” at CSUN. So, we invite you to experience it for yourself.
Whether you join us as an SRC member, student employee or staff member, we like to say that…YOU
ARE Team SRC! Now let’s take a look at all of the different
memberships available here at the SRC to see which one is right for you. As a currently enrolled CSUN Student, your
SRC membership is already included in your campus fees. To activate it, just bring your
CSUN ID number to the SRC front desk and one of our friendly representatives will help
you register for your membership at a convenient kiosk in the SRC lobby. Your student membership at the SRC also includes
full access to the Oasis Wellness Center. The Oasis is a welcoming destination where
CSUN students find serenity and relaxation amid the rush and activity of campus life.
It offers meditation, massages, acupuncture, nap pods and workshops focused on wellness
and managing stress — all intended to promote your academic success. First-Time Student memberships are available
for those CSUN students who have just enrolled at the university level for the first time.
This membership will provide you with early access to the SRC during summer session
immediately preceding your first semester of fall classes. Former CSUN students who have moved on in
their academic career but were enrolled during the previous semester are eligible for an
SRC membership as a Continuing Student. There’s also a membership available for students in
the Tseng College at CSUN, including those enrolled in a masters, credentials, Open U,
IEP or non-credit program. Faculty and Staff memberships at the SRC are
available for everyone who is currently employed as a CSUN administrator, faculty, staff member
or recognized emeritus faculty. The SRC’s location on campus makes establishing your
fitness routine here as convenient as possible. Automatic payroll deduction of your SRC membership
fees is available to all full-time CSUN employees who receive 12 paychecks or more per year. Whether you’re Matador Alumnus or a member
of the CSUN Alumni Association, you are eligible for an SRC membership that is competitively
priced with nearby local facilities. It’s a great way to keep working out and stay engaged
with all the activities on campus. Your SRC membership doesn’t have to take
a vacation during the Summer. Students who are enrolled in summer classes still have
access to all their favorite fitness activities at the SRC. Even if you’re a CSUN student
who is not enrolled in Summer classes, you can still purchase a summer membership at
the student rate. In addition, all summer SRC members – including faculty and staff
— are also offered complete access to the Oasis Wellness Center during the Summer session. The SRC has opportunities for spouses and
domestic partners of current members to access the facility with a Sponsored Adult membership.
Active members with children can bring Dependents who are 18 years of age or younger with them
to the SRC for free during special Dependent Hours. The SRC also offers special paid passes for
non-members. A one-day Guest Pass provides access to the SRC for an individual sponsored
by a current member. A Spectator Pass is available for non-members who just want to come and
watch a special event, Intramural Sports activity or children’s swim lesson. And there is
a Plaza Pool Pass that provides you special access to the Plaza Pool for swimming or just
relaxing. The SRC and the Oasis both use biometric hand
scanners for quick and reliable check in. Just enter your CSUN ID number and place your
hand in one of our hand scanners located at the entrances to the SRC and Oasis – and
you’re in. It’s just that easy! Now that you know which SRC membership is
best for you, there’s only one thing left to do – and it will only take a few minutes. Come see us today at the SRC Front Desk with
your CSUN ID number and our friendly Membership Services representatives will help you complete
your registration. After you sign up, you’ll have immediate
total access to everything offered at the Student Recreation Center in the University
Student Union – and that’s when the good stuff starts. We look forward to seeing you here soon…and
welcome to Team SRC!
