While I was in high school, in Year 12, I got
offered a traineeship at UWA Sport and then also doing that, I had to do
a Cert III in Sport and Rec. So it was a bonus and yeah it’s been a great year. Recently just completed it and yeah it’s been great. I currently play for East Perth in the WAFL,
so I’ve been doing that since I was 16/17. So adapting to work, life, training, as well as studying. Skills I learnt is probably dealing with people and working with people in a sports environment, also organising teams and yeah working in the
sports environment, that sort of the other side of sport that you don’t see
as an athlete. Currently I’m working at UWA Sport as a Customer Service Officer.
I’ve recently just transitioned into it in the last two weeks. So now
in charge of all our casual staff, in charge of our front desk and our gym.
The best part of my job is interacting with our members, building relationships with
people that you see every day, and then also being in that sport environment that I love.
