  • Impressive video. I've been going there for biz and pleasure since the mid 70's and you covered quite a few spots this outsider would recommend. Definitely go to Buena Vista on a cold night for a nice irish coffee. Maybe cover North Beach, and North Beach Pizza for some yummy and affordable pizza and tortilini. Another alternative, if you have a little time is to fly into Sacramento and Amtrak into SF. If you are into trains and views very enjoyable and only takes 3 hours out of your schedule. Keep up the fun vids.

  • Please be careful of car break-ins. SF is known for this and law enforcement does not do anything about it because it's not worth it for them and they can seldom charge someone

  • We stayed at The Argonaut on fisherman’s wharf and it was v nice – plus right next door to the Tram stop and Ghirardelli’s chocolate

  • Also to avoid the line of the tram from the main shopping district walk up the road to the first or second stop as they keep spaces for travellers further up – we waited nearly an hour to get on and could’ve just walked up the road 🙄

  • IS THIS , UNITET STATES , OR IS MEXICO 🇲🇽, OR IS CHINA , 🇨🇳OR. IS ITALY ? 🇮🇹 WE DO NOT UNDERSTAN , WICH COUNTRY WE LIVE ? • Hotel rates are usually a bit lower on weeknights. But if there's an event in town, weeknights are 3x. And there are frequent events.

  • THE BEST ADVICE IS JUST DON'T FUCKING GO. THEY DON'T DESERVE TOURISM. THE VERY BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO SAN FRANCISCO BECAUSE OF THEIR POLITICIANS AND NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR PEOPLE, IS A HUGE FUCKING EARTHQUAKE. IT'S JUST TOO BAD WE COULDN'T JUST PICK THE DEMOCRATS OUT TO DIE IN THAT.

  • OK let me say this: skip the tourist bullshit. I live here and personally think it is boring. If you want a real show then you should go to Mission.

  • I live in SF. I've lived here for 25 years. I stopped watching around the 6 minute mark. This guy is an idiot who got so many things wrong. Don't let this guy be your travel guide. He's not Rick Steves.

  • I pretty much did Everything Accept For the Palace of fine arts,Bay cruise, the zoo and I Wanted to explore Japantown but otherwise I did Like 70% of San Francisco

  • We are going to San Francisco in June 2020 for the 1st time. Thanks so much for this video, it's been the most helpful I've seen on you tube. Love it!

  • First time in was in San Francisco was Sept 2001…it was my favorite city. Went back 15 years later and it got so expensive…had to stay at a hostel, but had a good time at the hostel.

  • Nobody who's been in SF more than five minutes calls the "Westin St. Francis" Hotel "the Westin" it's the "St. Francis". Always has been always will be.

  • As it said on the plaque at the Buena Vista (and the opposite to your commentary), Irish Coffee wasn't invented there it was invented in Shannon Airport, Ireland. It was at the Buena Vista that it was first made in the US.

  • This guy did a good job dodging the bums so that they dont appear in his video – either that or he airbrushed them out.

Most important thing to remember is to stay off Market Street and Powel area – where raving lunatics and psycho bums tend to congregate the most. This is near the cable car terminal and I've seen bums being rather extra motivated in bothering tourists and in some cases attacking them. If you really must ride the cable car, just dont get on there.

  • Great job. One Correction: San Jose is part of Silicon Valley, not Silicone. Silicon is an element used in making computer chips. Silicone is used to making breasts enlarged. (Local joke from years ago was that the Broadway area in SF where the strip clubs are made famous by Carol Doda was referred to as Silicone Valley by columnist Herb Caen.)

  • My only two cents is if you want really good fried fish and clam chowder make it to half moon bay if you rent a car. Traveling down highway 1 is amazing. One of the best parts of the area. And maybe stop at Muir redwoods. If you go to half moon bay eat at Barbra’s fish trap. For myself it’s the best clam chowder and fried fish. Bodins has good bread but not the best food. There is a roach coach on Yelp near there which is your best boom for dollar. Good fried fish English style and cheapest meal we found. We are foodies. Travel for distance for good food. 😀 hope that helps.

  • I've been here since 1983 and since then I've learned that…. Mark Twain never said that.
Never call it "The BART", I've never heard of POPPOS until I painfully watched this video, please only refer to this City as San Francisco, SF or The City.--and Fisherman's Warf/Pier 39 is the worst place on Earth also Irish Coffee didn't come from Buena Vista. Oh and yes, Fly into OAKLAND…. SFO is hella far.

  • Some good tips in San Francisco:
    – Try to avoid BART, especially during rush hour. It is crowded, dark, smelly, and uncomfortable. Generally only use BART when coming from the airport and going to Oakland, Berkley, or other East Bay hotspots. If you aren't staying in the north Peninsula, you'll have to use CalTrain to get through the rest of the peninsula and to San Jose. CalTrain can be reached from BART at the 4th/King Station (via MUNI), or at Millbrae. CalTrain runs as frequently as every 15 minutes during peak hours, to hourly midday on weekdays, to every 90 minutes on weekends, so it's not as "show up and go" as BART and MUNI are.
    – MUNI is best if you are staying within the city, however note what station/stop you are going to and what line goes there. Outbound usually means westbound, and Inbound usually means eastbound. SF Natives won't refer to it as the "Dark blue line" or the "purple line," we use the Letter/Name combo. The Lines are J Church, KT Ingleside/Third (K Ingleside runs through Market towards Balboa Park/West Portal Outbound, T Third Street runs through Market Inbound towards Bayshore/Embarcadero) L Taraval, M Ocean View, and N Judah. Only 2 lines, N and KT, run to Oracle Park and beyond, the other terminate at Embarcadero Station.
    – Tony's Pizza Napoletana in North Beach is the best pizza IMO if you have time, and Marcello's (Cash Only) just outside of Castro Station is the best Pizza for a quick bite.
    – Hayes Valley kind of feels like SoHo in New York, with lots of little shops here and there, just not so much designer luxury goods and more local boutiques and some really unique and interesting shops and eateries.
    – Union Square and Fisherman's wharf are very touristy, there is so much more around the city than just that, such as the Presidio neighborhood, Balboa Park, Chinatown, Japan Town, the Mission, etc.

  • Thank you for your very informative and interesting presentation I really appreciate that! We plan to visit SF, SLC, Yellowstone, LA and San Diego next summer and I have already suscribed your channel, though we are not the first time visitng the same places your information is so helpful. a big big thank you!

  • Almost all US cities are awful (maybe Chicago downtown and New York surrounding Central Park being the only exceptions).
Go to Paris, Barcelona, London, Rome instead. And they are almost all cheaper than SF.

  • This video is fantastic!! Very helpful and insightful indeed. I am going in May 2020 and this has helped me alot. Nice clear footage, great sound too. Will check your other videos out now! 🙂

  • As a local I'd say the number one thing to know is never leave the house without a hoodie or a jacket because the fog will roll in in the afternoon and it'll be the coldest winter you ever spent!

  • there's a pops / popo where i am currently at, in university of minneapolis. i ride my lime scooter near there daily to marcy park.

  • The city is not just "getting into the microbrew scene." That beer you were holding as you made that statement is the first craft brew in the United States…the first. The "Steam" in the name Anchor Steam refers to the first batches made there that they had to ferment on their rooftop due to lack of space inside the brewery. As the warm brew fermented in the morning fog it would let out a plume of steam that could be seen from the adjacent streets. Pretty cool useless fact to know unless you can comment on some random YouTube video after a bottle of wine!

  • I’ve lived in San Francisco for 20 years and have visited since childhood. I love the city for what’s great about it and tolerant whats not. I think you should do another video about the insiders guide to the city. Mention some of the less touristy sports like Valencia street. When it comes to food there is no shortage of incredible restaurants. I always feel sorry for tourists who only go to Fisherman’s Warf. There is so much more to this wonderful city. Watch my friend Tom’s video “Best pizza in SF” give you more of an insiders view.

  • Parker's NBA Videos says:

It's wild seeing you in my hometown after watching a ton of your Vegas and Japan vids. I also learned a few things about SF too!

I moved away years ago but am planning a trip there so I watched your vid.

  • It smells like shit and homeless scumbag degenerates are everywhere hopefully they have a major earthquake and the whole shite hole city falls into the Pacific

  • 1Bring gloves and use Bart becareful Because you might sit on bum piss , 2 keep your eyes bums will fight you Tweakers will to 3 bum are shooting up everywhere watch your Where you are stepping cause there’s shit on the ground everywhere 5 this guy is not real San Franciscan he doesn’t know 6 don’t drive people walk because people will break in your car 7 San Francisco is a big pice of shit …. including there mayor there DA. 8 you might hurt someone’s feeling because a lot people are so PC 9 people from that live in San Francisco aren’t real San Franciscans 10 the techies don’t watch there walking and no body helps when your getting Rob . 11 don’t stay in downtown or the TL (Tenderloin) and traffic sucks all around here ….. remember to bring extra change to park your car……dam super liberals that live in a fantastic messed San Francisco up

  • You know that meme with the dog saying everything is fine while everything around him is on fire? Yeah, that sums up everyone in that god awfull city.

  • Please cite the work in which Mark Twain allegedly said that. Oh, you can't. Because he didn't. In Roughing It he talks extensively about the wonderful climate.

  • I live in the Bay Area and I gotta point out that Bart can get dangerous at times there’s a lot of crime that happens there and not enough police presence and a lot of drug addicts and homeless people outside Bart stations specially in the city

  • Hundred Percent Steve says:

Things to know about San Francisco make sure you have multiple pairs of shoes because you will be stepping in multiple piles of homeless people s**t. Not Kidding!
