♪ ♪ It’s not hard for me to
create the stuff I create but I definitely need
to reach that zone. I just run through beats
and whichever one I start feelin’ instantly. I get like the melody, that’s
how I want to come in on it. I always find the whole
feel for it, not the whole feel, but like the main
feel I want for the song and then I put
the words to it. After I lay my first vocal
track it’s pretty much just flow from there. I’m definitely a writer more
than a freestyler, for sure. I write a lot of music. I’ve always taken in
being able to write. Like even in school I used
to get As and Bs on my essays. I remember in fourth
grade I wrote a book. [Laughing] I don’t like to let random
people into my studio session. I’m real like tight about
who I like to let witness it. I don’t like a lot of
stuff going on in the studio cause it
distracts me. If it’s super bright in
the room or if there’s a lot of people doin stuff
in there then it takes away from it. Like I have to focus. I dunno I guess like I’m a
tightwad when it comes to my art. I take a lot of
pride in this. I feel like this is like
the only thing I have of my own other than my son. I pull my inspiration from
everywhere like I can’t say one space cause I really do
pull it from everywhere. I’m observant
of everything. Walking down the street
I might notice a sign, rap about it. I might rap about
this interview. [Laughing] When I feel like I’m in
a block, just like that, I’ll just look for natural,
like natural inspiration. Or like go out like to
Ocean Beach, that’s like the hippie part of town. It’s like just positive
vibes and all like good energy and love. I remember when I first
started, when I first started doing music in
Atlanta, like if I thought of something I would have
to pull my phone out and record it right then. But now it’s like I can
pretty much remember stuff or like flows I wanna have
on songs or like little verses I write in my head. I can kinda keep um now. Like it’s starting to
become like second nature to like rap. I feel myself getting
better every song.
