Recreation Spotlight: Kidz Kamp

Recreation Spotlight: Kidz Kamp

Kids Camp is during the summer. We have two sessions, one in the morning
one in the afternoon but younger kids go from five to eight years old and then we have an older group that
goes from eight to 12. this week our theme is Dexter’s
Laboratory. We’re doing science experiments all week. They
have school during the school year and and PE classes and that keeps them acitve but during the summer it’s just too hot to go play outside.
Here at the center There’s the basketball court we have two
classrooms that are just for us. Many times we use the rock wall and we even go outside once it’s a little cooler. I keep the kids active so that
they use all the extra energy they’re still doing something fun and
creative. Those of us that are hired here have a love
for Gilbert, a love for the kids and the families that live here. and so we like to support the
community as much as we can. It’s really fun to watch their minds
come alive and it’s like a literal lightbulb moment when they learned
something new or whenever they do something that they enjoy. It’s always just fun to watch them having fun.
