OCs Take: Stanford Recreation and Wellness


Looking for a way to blow off steam after
a difficult midterm? Do you want to enjoy the beautiful Stanford
weather but don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered with plenty of ideas
for ways to be active and take advantage of all the resources Stanford has to offer. So, there are two recreation facilities, bear
with us because they’re both Arrillaga’s. The first one is Arillaga Center for Sports
and Recreation and the other one is Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center. Both have basketball courts rock climbing walls [Remy] Okay we’re getting ready. Oh we’re doing good, oh oh and we’re down. What happened there Walker? Did you get tired? [Walker] I did arm day yesterday dude. You, you wouldn’t understand. weights stairclimbers countless treadmills [Remy] You look like you really know what
you’re doing there” Squash courts and one facility even has an olympic size pool. [Remy]And here we see Walker doing what I like to call ‘the phone stretch’ it’s one of his favorite
hobbies. [Walker] It’s a quality stretch, it hits all
the muscle groups. The track is even open to the public after
6pm, but make sure to stay out of the first three lanes. [Brittany] Lanes 1 through 3 are solely for
Varsity Track athletes because that is where we practice. So, stay out of lanes 1 through 3, or else
I will probably find you. Just a short walk off campus is the Stanford
dish, it’s 3.7 miles of pavement to go for a run or hike around. Go with your friends or by yourself to get
some great views of campus.
