Fishing Pike for Fun | Team Galant ft. Zeebrozz

There were no boat ramp so
we brought a jon boat today. Nice. Let’s keep on hammering.
-Yes. Action in the surface behind the lure.
-That was a pig. Really hard strike here.
-It’s banging its head really nice. That was a really hard take. The line
went slack when it took the lure. Today we’re just going out for
a short trip in the evening. With us today, we have Linus and we’re
going to fish in a small stream. So what do you think about today? Do we
have a chance for big post-spawn pike? I think we may have timed it pretty well.
-You said before that either you get.. ..a lot of pike here, or nothing at all.
-Yes. If we hit the right day we’ll get many pike.. ..and some big ones, I think so at least.
And this is the first night in a while were.. ..the temperature hasn’t gone below zero,
so I think it can be a very good day. We think most pike are done spawning
so we’ll start of fishing with this lure. We believe that the irregular movements and sounds
it makes might entice the post-spawn pike to attack. There were no boat ramp so we brought a jon boat and carried it around 100 meters down here to the water. Linus is starting with the color Rusty Perch.
-It looks a little bit like Motoroil. That color has worked very well the other
times I fished here so I’ll try to play it safe. I’ll fish with this red one, and Glantz over there
looking out over the lake, will fish with Firetiger. That way we’ll cover a lot of different
colors to see what’s working today. Let’s do this.
-Yes, let’s go. What are you doing?
-Well, I’m bringing in the first fish of the day. Let’s see if I can get it up here.
-I just had a big one on around 9 pounds. We’ve had some contacts so far. We’ve seen some
surface action behind the baits in shallow water. This time on the color Bluesilver. Let’s
give it a quick bath. Nice looking pike. It’s ok, but we’ll get bigger ones.
-Absolutely. Oh, one more Linus. You have the right technique.
-Yes, now I know how to fish the lure. Doing a quick unhook. On the
Bluesilver color again. It’s a long and small one, you can really see
that they’ve spawned. But a pike is still a pike. Nice. Let’s keep on hammering.
-Yes. It was a really hard take. Made a cast over there,
started retreiving and bam. The line went slack. There, look a this one. Quite nice, must be around
10 pounds. What do you think? So much fun. It seems as if I get the ones that have spawned.
-I can agree on that, it looks quite weak. On the Bluesilver color yet again, seems to work.
-Yes, I tried the Redblack one and.. ..Jocke have fished with the Firetiger,
but they haven’t delivered yet. Can you give me the plier there behind you.
-Yes, I’ll get it for you. As I said before, we always get fish around
this outlet. There’s a 2 meter deep hole here.. ..and around it it’s only one meter.
-Which only gives us small pike.. Yeah, but we’ve had contacts with really nice
pike here before, so let’s try to get them. How do you fish your lure? Fast or slow?
-I fish slowly with a lot of spin stops. It’s quite shallow here so I just retrieve it a bit,
lift the rod, and let it sink while watching the line. Most of the pike have taken
the lure right after the stops. -Linus, you’re the Headbanger Master today.
Hehe, yes, I guess we can call it that. On the Bluesilver again. It’s a long pike but it’s very thin.
-That’s post spawn fishing. As I said before and still believe, I think the irregular
movements, together with the rattling sounds.. ..entice the post-spawn pike.
85 cm of pike is still 85 cm. We’re fishing a small stream, but here and there it
opens up and turns into small lakes so to speak. In these small lakes we noticed that
the pike stays packed in small areas. A tip when fishing like this during spring is to throw
anchor as soon as you get a bite, then fish that area. That was a really nice take. These pike come
into this small stream from Mälaren to spawn. Here you can see a leech on the neck, which
means that the pike are quite inactive. It’s not full och leeches, so while it might be active
it’s still probably resting most of the time. Which pretty much sums up the fishing we
have today, just some bites once in a while. Yet another post spawn pike, but a hard take.
-Yes, that was a really hard take. Whoa, watch out for the hook there.
That must be the most most worn out pike today. There’s leeches, soars from the spawn,
it has been attacked more than once. But they’re biting.
-Haha, nice. That’s the end of this short trip,
we’ve had a couple of nice pike. And this is what a regular fishing
trip with Team Galant looks like.
