More than a thousand students call the
Crete campus home each year. The 13 million dollar George and Sally Haddix
Recreation and Athletic Center was built for all of them. The place to shave
seconds off your personal best or pounds off the scale a place to compete a place
to play a place to zumba reset your mind to calm with yoga make as much noise as
1100 people at a sporting event possibly can. The Haddix Center was one of the
most anticipated buildings in Doane’s history. Here’s a quick look at what it’s
63,535 square feet has to offer. The Haddix fitness center fills 9,000
square feet on two levels with equipment that rivals a Division One training room
the fitness center can complement the strength training programs of Tiger
athletes or help you reach your fitness goals. An open layout intelligent design
and spaciousness give it the feel of a large urban center while it’s two-story
wall of glass overlooks a wooded area and stream just one part of Doane’s
300-acre Arboretum. With the beautiful wood floor the studio
is home to cheer and dance ballet yoga aerobics Zumba modern dance classes and
more. Two classrooms and a human performance lab offer a great learning
environment as well as body composition and cardio respiratory function tests the starting point for Doane athletes home to
most of our athletic coaches if you need to check in with your coach your
assistant coach or any coach you’ll find them all in one location Technology is
seamless and everywhere you need it to be. Coaches can review the game and
performance anywhere and anytime with advanced video analysis software even at
half time. Four big screen televisions play live game video in the lobby so the
concession line doesn’t make a single fan miss the game. An interactive
athletic hall of fame and honor d display introduces the Doane Tigers who
laid the foundation for Tiger sports. The gymnasium is the heart of tiger
volleyball and basketball it’s where we roar with locker rooms designed by
coaches they are more than just a place to hang clothes they are a place for
teaching a place for team. Doane’s new lighted complex boast 6 regulation
tennis courts with its opening Doane became the only college in the Great
Plains Athletic Conference whose athletes can play all sports on campus.
