Breakfast Girl from Parks and Rec — Our City, Our Story — Rockford, Illinois

Kelly Steward- I had no clue. It was a friend from high school. She wrote me and she’s like,
“I swear, this is you.” Ron Swanson – I’m a simple man. I like pretty, dark-haired
women and breakfast food. But this stock photo I bought
at a framing store isn’t real. Kelly – Oh my gosh, that is me. (laughs) How did this happen? I cannot believe this, but,
like really cool. (laughs) Years ago, I was flown
out to New York City by a photographer to work
on some stock photos. And, well, little did I know that someone in the prop department of Parks and Rec would pick up this picture and put it on the wall
of Ron Swanson’s office. All the cast members were
allowed to take some memorabilia home from the set, and Nick Offerman chose to take my picture. So my picture is hanging in his workshop. I’m looking over him every day. (laughs) I love breakfast food, I truly do. I am a breakfast person
through and through, and that’s my typical breakfast too, eggs and bacon and,
yeah, Miles would laugh. Miles, my husband, would
laugh because he’d be like, “Yup, bacon and eggs every day.” (laughs) Right now, I am about to release my first full-length record. I’m 42, I’ve released a couple EPs, but just the way life takes, I was a single mom for a long time. And I’m trying to raise a young man, and so I put some things to the side. And now he’s 18, and off to
college, and I’m ready to go. The next stage in life.
