Behind the Scenes | Filipe DeAndrade in New Zealand

If i were to sum up New Zealand in one
word, it would be unpredictable. My name is Filipe DeAndrade. I am an
adventure and wildlife filmmaker, and we are out here in New Zealand hiking the Te Araroa, it’s a three thousand kilometer, eighteen hundred mile trek. From the
north of the North Island, all the way down the south of the South Island. How cool is that? This trail is the newest thru-hike in the world. If you want to
challenge yourself, it’s absolutely the place to come to. This moment was worth
everything. It’s pretty exciting to be the filmmaker, because you’re always
picking up new tricks, you’re always finding different creative ways to get
the shot, in spite of the conditions that you’re putting yourself in. I saw a look of terror. There’s nothing that makes me more
excited to get back to home base, that makes me want to finish the section, than
to go back to the computer and look at what I just shot. Having the G-Technology rugged drives
out here is absolutely vital, because if you don’t have something that can
sustain the elements, then you don’t have a story.
