ANKARA! 🇹🇷 The Capital of Turkey! Travel VLOG #390

good morning way Sam from Ankara Turkey today we’re going to go see it on car someplace you should actually visit so today holds a couple things first we’re here outside of Ana’s Oulu metro station and we’re going to meet to a few a fans we’re going to go see Ataturk mausoleum and then later today we’re going to meet up with a bunch of uhm here in Ankara the rumor is so serene and thunder and lightning today so I’m touched probably my fingers crossed but like it happen nothing to be fun yeah I’d like to clear up swords later towards the meetup stop so fingers crossed I had my back really yeah it was rainy first a little bit I heard I was going to stop oh hello hi how are you no that’s okay did I say it right yeah yeah you from those Ricci – I’m fine yeah [Music] for those of you new to the channel hello I’m Josh ashley is UFO one that’s in the video is me and we are in Turkey right now we travel around the world and right now we’re in Turkey and you may be wondering why I’m Cara why are you here well someone were to visit us I’d probably say go visit Washington DC the capital of our country and where a lot of our famous historical artifacts and monuments are stored and that’s exactly what Ankara is for Turkey [Music] now at first I was not necessarily excited to come here it wasn’t even on my list but after putting up so many YouTube videos on Turkey we realized that the Turks are incredibly nationalistic and they basically begged us to come here so we got to find out you know what is this place and why the Turks look at a church so much [Music] [Music] during World War one out of Turks gained notoriety as a military strategist and he also founded a speaker society that was against the current governmental system after World War one he began to lead the people towards a new reformed government based more closely on Western ideals or Western Europe and that is the basis full of what modern Turkey is today in 1938 Ataturk passed and they placed his body in a sarcophagus in a museum here in Ankara then around 20 years later they held a contest that had over 40 people submitting designs for this mausoleum here and they’ll aided by the rest here finally the nation mourns during that time they had lost a great heroic figure imagine if from the US perspective we had George Washington Ben Franklin and Abraham Lincoln all wrapped up into one person that’s who the Turks lost during that time you know that this square fits 15,000 people in it that’s a lot of people our meetup will be here one day yeah my word on it make my what is that thing where does your bond mark my words one day we’ll have a meetup here 15,000 the Sultan at the time had signed a contract saying that this was what Fergie would be the spheres of influence from different countries on France Great Britain spot to cluster they actually never went through with the contract and they were able to keep Turkey ethical [Music] it’s it’s really interesting because the u.s. is often called a young notion and I know that Turkey has a rich history going back to pretty much the beginning of civilization but Turkey as we know it today is less than half as young as the u.s. is now it’s almost a hundred years old I want to say or just over but that’s so cool that such a young country has achieved a lot in so little a time and upon who you ask that’s a good or a bad thing with the Turks they’re very proud of that this country would not be what it was is today well yeah and so I completely understand why he’s such a revered figure in the trigger school [Music] [Music] come to a special place to get some cool bench which don’t you all told us to try but have also said that they’re not telling us what it is until we eat it fortunate thing is we actually know what it is but I want to scare it away we like to try new things new places and this is a common food that people eat here it is lamb Cucaracha which is lamb intestine all chopped up and in very delicious pieces alright give a shot then huh oh really flavorful did it taste like something gross like intestines of a sheep no you remember now no it’s just like spicy grease yeah this is actually different from the last one we had last one we had was like obviously big chunks of fatty stuff but I really like this one better where it’s all chopped up it’s not as like krisily now the ultimate question would you order this again probably this one probably I feel like I want some cheese on top really nigga make it a Philly cheesesteak yeah yeah yes we have here a Donna it’s a it’s a lamb and beef mixture about 50/50 if you’re afraid of intestine Advanta is probably right for you because it’s lamb and beef mixed and it’s very palatable it’s just weak if you like me this is delicious all right we were given how cut along with our own lunch and it’s fun mole dessert kind of fried dough with simple syrup on the outside it reminds me of like a Mexican churro style is it taste like it no there’s a lot of simple syrup inside oh wow it was really smashing out inside and pretty much exploded in my mouth I love the crunchy / chewy on the outside and the sauce on it inside it’s really nice [Music] you there’s actually the Ankara yep is officially big thank you guys for coming Loic wrap [Music] [Applause] this is called Java and made from lamb direct lamb chops and far small particulates I love lamb I’m excited I love oil I had lamb earlier tonight and again it’s my lucky day so the meetup was a total and complete success actually finally had her girlfriends to hang out with I don’t know if he showed on screen but there’s a lot of girls there thank you Ankara we’re having such a great time again Ankara it may not be the most touristic place but we’re finding that one I mean once again the people here are incredibly kind wonderful and we had such an awesome time so wave ham I hope we encourage you to gather and travel today if you’re near Ankara I would check it out it’s actually a lot to see here especially in the surrounding area so you might even need to take your time if you come for a day you see the editor mausoleum and that’s about it but did you spend more time here there’s a lot to do we’ll see in the next video hey did you do [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you [Music]
