A Day on the Flooded Beach

A Day on the Flooded Beach

Hello and welcome to the Flooded Beach (giggle) Like I said the water level has gone up I’m not sure if you’ve seen some of the beach in the last episode Or the last maybe couple episodes ago But, the water is all the way up to the shelter I’m pretty sure it was about 6 feet out maybe more, and then we had 2 and 1/2 inches of rain in 1 day Uhhhh, I don’t measure rain a whole lot at home, but Jim likes to have his measuring, his rain measuring device So, it was 2 and 1/2 inches And then he dumps it out everyday and resets it for the next day, and sees how much rain they get over, every 24 hours So, you guys always think I’m working at the cottage but I’m not today (giggle) Yesterday I wasn’t working at the cottage Uhhh, I got up this morning and put together yesterday’s vlog about the Island picnic, which was not on the island this year I guess they call it the Regatta, the Gibson Lake Regatta And they had to move it again from the Island, which is right there, all the way to the ball diamond way down at the other end you can’t see it It’s to far away So this is what we do when we’re not working Jim and I were gonna cut the grass today but it rained again this morning And uhhh, yeah so, I’m thinking that the lake, where this lake is situated, their is so many other lakes that feed into this lake And there isn’t a whole lot of ummmm, whoa, big horse fly Whoaaaaa, don’t you dare, those things can bite man Before we were rudely interrupted by the horse fly I’m thinking a lot of lakes feed into this one, this one doesn’t have much of an outlet to it So the water builds up really fast and then it just takes forever for the lake to get back down to its normal levels Sooo, the dock is, was where it was, and that wasn’t underwater, sooo, the end of the ramp Lets take a walk shall we The end of this ramp was not in the water at all Sooo, the water was….. Yep, this rock was not underwater, so that’s like a foot, maybe a foot and a half It’s half way up my leg, right there That’s CRAZY I think we even have more……. like if this was a normal year I think the beach would be to here So this is where the water line would be normally But it’s over their, and thats gotta be….. 15-16 feet from where it’s supposed to be Crazy Jim just got this boat this year, bought it off another…. cottager who was getting rid off it I don’t no how much he got it for I’ve always wanted an aluminum boat Kinda fun to have, just put a little 9 horse power engine on it There’s Carol and her mom, and Sam You’re gonna have to go around this way Joan unless you want me to move the boat I can’t remember if you need a license to drive any motorized vehicle on the lake even if it was under 10 Horse Power Under 10 you’re allowed to Yeah neither am I Anyways so this is what we’re doing today just hanging out at the beach Right??? Whoaaaa, like a rocket You gonna go bug your parents…… (Carol) yes I am The parents are over their, Carol is gonna ram them And I’ve got a bucket (hahaha) an I’ve got a bucket (evil laugh) Look it Sam’s swimming, awwwww Sam, he’s underwater Sammmmm Sammmm Whatcha doing underwater You wanted to go…. ahhhhhh, I’m so glad I moved my camera, my phone Jeeez Ahhh, I thought she was gonna ram ’em for sure Sam’s coming out Carol!!! Alright, Carol’s taking out the plastic Hunk-A-Junk The Hunk-A-Junk to go rescue Jim(hahaha) Keep him company Big Difference, aye So that was Carol’s 2nd Kayak, we had the sit on one, which was probably like 400 bucks, I think we’ve talked about this before And then we bought her that one which is like a $800.00 Costco Special And then we bought her that one which is about $1100.00, but it’s like… I don’t know 10 pounds lighter than that one and it just slides perfectly through the water Carol loves her Kayak and we are gonna do more Kayaking trips in the future, look forward to it (music during time lapse) Jim is back from the dammed Carol and Sam over their Good ride??? Nice and easy ride aye Faster and easier than a canoe Put one leg out… is the secret Ohhh Sure Sure that’s a good one…. a mosquito, a mosquito made me fall in There you go, he is out!!!
